Terms of use
These terms apply to the guide website and the learning app of Viapunt, a service of Swiss Science Tutors GmbH, 5200 Brugg, Switzerland (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or buying a Viapunt Pass you accept them.
1. Who we are and what the service is
1.1 Viapunt is an independent private service that helps people prepare for the Swiss citizenship knowledge test. It has a free guide website and a learning app.
1.2 We are not connected to any federal, cantonal or communal authority and have no official status. See About Viapunt.
2. Who may use the service
2.1 You must be 16 or older. When you sign up you confirm this yourself; we do not ask for your date of birth or check your age.
2.2 You must give a working email address that belongs to you.
3. Your account
3.1 You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email. You may also set a password.
3.2 Keep your email account and password safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.
3.3 You can delete your account yourself on the Account page. What is kept afterwards is described in the privacy notice.
4. The Viapunt Pass
4.1 The Viapunt Pass is a one-off purchase, not a subscription. It does not renew and we do not charge you again.
4.2 One pass gives access to all questions and study modes for one canton, unlimited mock tests, the “Explain this” assistant and every available language, for 6 months from payment.
4.3 An extension adds 3 months. It can be bought while your pass is active or up to 90 days after it ended.
4.4 Access starts when Stripe confirms your payment. When it ends, you keep your account and the free content.
5. Prices and payment
5.1 Prices are in Swiss francs (CHF). At present: Viapunt Pass CHF 29; extension CHF 9. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay.
5.2 Prices are final prices in Swiss francs.
5.3 Payment is handled by Stripe (card or TWINT). We do not see or store your card number.
5.4 We may change prices for future purchases. A change does not affect a pass you have already paid for.
6. Refunds
6.1 You may ask for a full refund within 14 days of payment if you have answered fewer than 50 different questions since paying. Questions answered before you bought do not count.
6.2 Ask by writing to us (clause 15). If the rule is met, we refund the payment to the original payment method and your access ends when the refund is made.
6.3 For an extension, a refund under the same rule takes the extra months off again.
6.4 We may refund in other cases at our discretion. Nothing in this clause limits rights you have under mandatory law.
7. What you may not do
7.1 Do not share your account or let others use your pass.
7.2 Do not copy, republish, sell or systematically download our questions, explanations, translations or other content, except for your own personal study.
7.3 Do not use bots, scrapers or other automated means to access the service, and do not try to bypass limits or security.
7.4 Do not misuse the “Explain this” assistant, for example to produce unlawful content or to overload it.
7.5 If you break these rules we may suspend or close your account. We will normally warn you first, except in serious cases.
8. Content and translations
8.1 The questions and explanations are written by us and are original. They are not the official question catalogue of any canton.
8.2 The knowledge test itself is in German. Translations into other languages are study aids only. The wording of the real test may differ.
8.3 We check our content against official sources and review it regularly. Rules and tests change; the authority handling your application has the final word.
8.4 We keep the rights in our content. You get a personal, non-transferable right to use it for your own study.
9. No guarantee of passing; no legal advice
9.1 We do not promise that you will pass the test or that your application will succeed.
9.2 The service gives general information. It is not legal advice and does not replace advice about your own situation. We do not give individual advice on applications, refusals or appeals.
10. The AI assistant
10.1 “Explain this” and the help chat use artificial intelligence. It can make mistakes, including wrong or out-of-date statements. Check important points against the question’s explanation and official sources.
10.2 There is a daily message limit.
10.3 What is sent to the AI provider is explained in the privacy notice.
11. Availability
11.1 We aim to keep the service available but do not promise uninterrupted access. There may be maintenance or outages.
11.2 We may change or withdraw features. If we withdraw the whole app while your pass is active, we will refund the unused part.
12. Liability
12.1 We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, and where the law does not allow us to exclude liability.
12.2 Otherwise, and as far as the law allows, our liability is limited to the price you paid for the pass and excludes indirect loss.
13. Changes to these terms
13.1 We may change these terms. We will tell account holders by email or in the app before a material change takes effect, normally at least 14 days ahead.
13.2 If you do not agree, you can delete your account. Using the service after the change date means you accept the change. A change does not make the terms of a pass you have already bought worse for you.
14. Law and place of jurisdiction
14.1 Swiss law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules.
14.2 The ordinary courts at our registered office in Brugg (canton of Aargau) have jurisdiction, subject to the mandatory consumer jurisdiction of Swiss law.
