Who runs this service

Viapunt is an independent private service. It is not connected to any federal, cantonal or communal authority. The operator is named in the imprint.

Our questions

All practice questions, explanations and translations are written by us. They are original. They are not the official question catalogue of any canton, and the real test may be worded differently. The knowledge test is in German; translations are study aids.

General information, not legal advice

Our pages explain the procedure and help you prepare. They are not legal advice: we cannot tell you whether you qualify or how an authority will decide. For your own case, ask the authority handling your application, an advice service or a lawyer.

How to reach the authorities

• Federal information on Swiss citizenship: State Secretariat for Migration (SEM)
• Canton of Zurich: Gemeindeamt, naturalisation
• Your own commune’s citizenship office handles your application; look up its contact on its website.

How we keep our information current
